YKWU (You can Knit With Us) is back from 12pm on Sunday 28th January at The Lab E20, Stratford. You might have noticed that we’ve sold out on Eventbrite. We’ve decided to move to a new ticketing platform called lu.ma (with a few tickets remaining) where you can view our full event calendar and secure your seat at our next session.
We are kicking off January by digging into our T-shirt pile and learning how to turn an unused T-shirt into yarn with Beth Clax and Izzy Cole, before creating a mini side bag.
About Beth Clax
Beth is a knitwear designer and educator currently working at UAL. She is interested in creating conversations and bringing awareness around the overconsumption of fast fashion. Her knitwear brand B.CLAX encompasses this, by creating hand crafted multi-functional knitted garments and accessories that can be worn in multiple ways. In the hope that the consumer will gain an emotional relationship with their clothing, highlighting the importance of craft and to tackle overconsumption within the fashion industry.
Beth will be joined by Izzy Coyle.

What do I need to bring?
We will provide knitting needles and will have a small pile of T-shirts. We recommend that you bring your own jersey T-shirt to upcycle. We have a limited number of free YKWU tickets available. Once they’ve sold out, you can attend the knitting club for just £5. The pattern will be available via Substack after the session for anyone that wants to try it at home.
